Your journey covers the breadth of the country, starting from Dili, heading west to the border town of Maliana, south through stunning mountain scenery to coastal Suai, then back via the mountain retreat of Maubisse. Visit the poignant Balibo memorial commemorating Timor-Leste’s struggle for independence. Experience traditional village life, share meals with community leaders, and ride diverse terrain from coastal plains to alpine highlands.

☑️ In Balibo, we will visit a memorial site commemorating the Balibo Five (five Australian journalists killed in October 1975). After that, spend some time in Balibo town
☑️ Leaving Balibo, we ride through dramatic highland scenery with panoramic border views

☑️ Continue to Maliana, the gateway to the western border region
☑️ Evening at hotel with dinner and group hangout

Although I don’t ride a bike, I was able to go as a passenger, which was a great way to experience the country. Everything was well-planned and organised, and communication before and during the trip was excellent. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for adventure in Timor Leste!
Have flown over and around Timor Leste many times over the years but to experience it from the ground by bike was next level. The beauty of the country, the wonderful people and the deep culture and rich but troubled history is an amazing experience. Add to that some pretty gnarly tracks sorted by Anas and the crew made up for a great few days of riding! Highly recommend to anyone contemplating a trip to Timor Leste.
Fantastic motorbike ride through Timor with friends, guided by Anas and his team of mechanics, photographers and backup riders. Culturally rich adventure while riding a dirt bike couldn’t get any better, sharing this with family and friends as well as making new friends was time out well spent !
